Welcome to this week’s edition of the Homeschool Mother’s Journal. This week we are featuring Kendra from Preschoolers and Peace.
In my life this week…
We’re a social bunch. Between the summer house clean, ballet class, and speech therapy, we squeezed in sending two off camping with grandparents, hosting a First Day of Summer party (Amy Stults, you’re invited), and nervously awaiting someone’s SAT scores.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
I’m going to the beach for a few days with a friend. She’s in the middle of a house move and I have some serious writing to do. Oh, who are we kidding? We’re both going to fall asleep on the beach and cool off our sunburns with piña coladas.
My favorite thing this week was…
Breakfast with a sweet gal who loves Jesus, lunch with a dear and talented writer friend. I loved seeing the glory of God in both lives.
Questions/thoughts I have…
Where does all the toilet paper in this house go, and why hasn’t it occurred to me before this week to purchase two of the gigantic Costco packs each time I shop?
Things I’m working on…
My weight. I’ve put on 10 pounds this year. Oh, the horror! I saw a sign on Pinterest that read, “Whenever I check my weight, I always subtract 5 pounds. I don’t think a girl’s boobs or brains should count against her.”
I’m reading…
♥ Britt Merrick’s Godspeed: Making Christ’s Mission Your Own. Britt’s daughter is Daisy (see below).
♥ Sparks and Vaddi’s Debt- Free College. One finishing his BA in December, one applying for colleges in November. Six more to go.
♥ Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Really looking forward to seeing why people have such a love/hate relationship with HP.
♥ Joan Wolf’s A Reluctant Queen aloud to the girls.
♥ Romans, Matthew, Psalms, Exodus
I’m praying for…
Daisy. 3rd round of cancer in three years at 8 years old. Her daddy is a pastor I appreciate greatly (see above).

Kendra — I’ll be interested to see what you think of Harry Potter.
Have a wonderful trip to the beach. That sounds heavenly!
I totally get the toilet paper thing, too — in fact, I’m headed out this morning to buy just that very thing. I think I’ll buy two big packages now!
