Homeschool Mother’s Journal: July 6, 2012

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Homeschool Mother’s Journal. This week we are featuring Jennifer from Jennifer A. Janes.

In my life this week…

I started the process of cleaning out old curriculum and reorganizing our school room so that we’ll be ready to start the new year. Unfortunately, the process is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I have taken time out for family activities and to do things (like crafts) with the kids. I want to be more of a “yes” mom.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We spent time with family this week, and the girls took some swim lessons. It has been nice to see the progress they’ve made since last summer.

My favorite thing this week was…

My favorite thing this week was spending time with my husband and children on the 4th. We didn’t go anywhere or do anything special, but those relaxed days spent reading together, watching movies, and visiting with one another are nice. We don’t get enough of them!

Questions/thoughts I have…

I’m excited that my husband and I will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary this weekend!

Things I’m working on…

I’m trying to get reorganized on many levels before we start our school year. I’m working on our school room, other areas of the house, my blog, and my reading list. I think sometimes I’m overly ambitious in what I try to accomplish in a week’s time!

I’m reading…

My reading focus this week has been:
  • 7 Tools for Cultivating Your Child’s Potential by Zan Tyler
  • Bible in 90 Days
  • 7 Hours Series - Tyndale House Publishers
I finished:
  • You Are Truly Perfect by Laurie Wallin
  • 31 Days to Build a Better Spouse by Ashley Pichea

I’m praying for…

I’m trying to wait patiently for answers to prayers I’ve been praying for a long time. Some of them are for my family, and others are for friends and extended family members. I am trying to remember Luke 18:1-8. Persistence in prayer has not been my strong suit. I’m trying to change that!
