Homeschool Mother’s Journal: August 24, 2012

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Homeschool Mother’s Journal. This week we are featuring Tricia from Hodgepodge.

In our homeschool this week…

In our homeschool this week we made…

a salt dough map of the 13 colonies (plus Spanish Florida because the colonies seemed to just be floating without FL).

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

my best advice is in the form of helpful homeschool habits from my Lasagna Learning series. They bless our days so much!

I am inspired by…

grace. Daily. “The floodgates are open, and the water is out. You just never know when grace will seep in.” Max Lucado

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

all the usual, extracurricular activities are back on the calendar. Drama troupe, church activities, children’s choir, puppets and park day. Plus, nature study in the backyard.

My favorite thing this week was…

our time with Harmony Fine Arts. Everyone together, listening and sketching.

Things I’m working on…

learning the ins and outs of Homeschool Tracker.

I’m reading…

The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer. I’ve had the privilege of studying it with my Sunday School class the last several weeks.

I’m cooking…

many things in my slow cooker. Because I love that thing. It is the super supper saver. And for you I have a huge list of slow cooker recipes.

I’m grateful for…

the privilege of this crazy homeschool life.

I’m praying for…

wisdom, always.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

I love all the old hymns. Often I open my hand-me-down hymnal during my morning quiet time. My favorite this week is Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. “What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms. Leaning, leaning; safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning…Leaning on the everlasting arms.”
